The type of filler is chosen according to the shape of your nose and whether you prefer a temporary or longer-lasting result. It is also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty. Performed without surgery, it adds volume to the nose but cannot make it smaller.

How Is Nose Filler Performed?

Before nose filler the doctor carries out a detailed examination. If the irregularities of the nose can be corrected with this method and your general health is good, the treatment is planned. The method, also used in aesthetic and reconstructive practice, follows clear steps:

  • As it is performed under local anaesthesia, a special numbing solution is applied to the nose.
  • The doctor then injects the chosen filler into the nose with fine needles. Because the main ingredient is hyaluronic acid, it integrates quickly with the surrounding tissue.
  • After the injection the nose is shaped: hollows on the bridge are filled, the lines between the nose and cheeks are refined and the tip is lifted.
  • Once the injection and shaping are complete, the result is assessed. If needed, small adjustments are made to meet your expectations.
  • Every stage of this aesthetic treatment is clearly defined. After all the steps, the recovery period begins.

What Is Recovery Like?

Nose filler is a minimally invasive injection performed with fine needles. As it is not surgery, recovery is short and comfortable. Mild redness and swelling may be noticed. You can return to your daily activities the same day, but the doctor's instructions should be followed. Because every nose and every treatment is different, recovery can vary slightly between people. Swelling and redness are expected to settle within about 1 to 2 weeks. Although recovery is usually short, it is important to monitor for any possible complications.

Advantages of Nose Filler

Nose filler gives a natural refinement of the nasal profile in harmony with the face. The treatment is quick, does not interrupt your social life and does not affect breathing. As there is no surgery, no stitches or long recovery are needed. When performed correctly, the nose keeps its natural look without an exaggerated result.

Recovery and Results

The change is visible straight after the treatment. Swelling and redness fade within a few days and the nasal profile becomes more defined. Results usually last 12 to 18 months, varying with metabolism and lifestyle. Repeat treatments can extend the result.

Who Is Nose Filler Suitable For?

Nose filler is ideal for people who do not want surgery and wish to slightly refine the nasal profile or lift the tip. It can also be used for small irregularities of the nasal bone or a dip at the root of the nose. For serious structural problems or a large hump, surgical methods may be more suitable.

Aftercare and Recommendations

Be gentle with your nose after the treatment. For the first few days, avoid direct pressure on the nose, very hot or cold environments, and use the recommended creams or care products to support healing. Avoiding intense exercise and massage for a few days also helps the shape settle.

Frequently asked questions

Is nose filler harmful?

When performed correctly with suitable fillers, nose filler is not harmful. As with any treatment, however, it carries some risks. Some people may develop an allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid, causing itching, swelling and redness. The filler may also shift over time, which can lead to asymmetry. If the procedure is not performed in a sterile setting, the risk of infection increases considerably.

Is nose filler permanent?

No. The filler is gradually absorbed by the body, so the result is not permanent and the treatment needs to be repeated when the effect wears off. As repeat treatments involve no surgery, they are usually comfortable. The type and quality of the filler and your lifestyle determine how long it lasts: in some people the effect lasts only a few months, in others considerably longer.

Who should not have nose filler?

Nose filler suits many people, but not every nasal irregularity can be corrected with filler, and it is not suitable for some health conditions. It is not recommended for: pregnant women; people with a severely curved or misshapen nasal bridge; people allergic to the filler; people with serious chronic illness; people with skin disease or sensitivity; people with an active cold sore; patients who want to solve a breathing problem; and people who want a smaller nose.

How long do the results last?

Usually 12 to 18 months. This may vary depending on your metabolism.
